In order to give more information on the agar crop and advice from growers, and also build a better relationship between the organization and the grower, The Vanadurgi has organized a new program called Agar Crop Field Fest held at the respective regions for the benefit of the growers of the seven districts with Agar crop. All the programes are on going especially in dense production zones. During the year 2012 various programes has been undertaken especially for the crop promotion as here in this short article.   

As the planters are also the shareholding partners of the company, care is taken to maintain transparency at each and every stage of our activities. An annual general body meeting is organised once a year, where all the issues are discussed, and important decisions taken, after considering the suggestions given by the planters. During the year AGM was organised in the hotel Advith Lancer, Sringeri on 29th September 2012. For the attending members, the company also provides information on various agricultural aspects, compatible crops, technical knowledge regarding inoculation etc. 

During the year, a planters’ meet is organised in crop-dense zones so that the farmers can have direct interaction with the management and scientists of the company. Field day programmes are organised in well-managed farms to create an interactive platform to exchange knowledge on various aspects of cultivation and processing. Demonstration of inoculation techniques which will be under taken is also given in this event . Training will be given to workers who wish to learn about Agar plantation and diseases management.  Guidelines will be given for harvesting and regeneration and processing and marketing aspects.

One of such meeting was held on at Cheekanahalli in Dr N K Pradeep plantation, gathering agar growers of Chikkamagaluru and Hassan district at ‘Nandi Estate’ on 29/5/12, at 10:30. Agar plants in Pradeep’s plantation sparked new thinking among both districts of old and the new growers. The exchange of ideas in the crop was facilitated by the presence of Vanadurgi’s managers and the company’s staff and promoters. The meeting was held at Pradeep’s residence at 12 noon by progressive growers and it’s President H D P A Mujaidhin inaugurated the program. Senior Coffee Grower Shri Gangayya Hegde presided over and said that Agarwood crop will help to improve the economy. Dr. Pradeep speaking of, the agar crop is effective in maintaining the current economic stability of coffee growers. Growers growing agar in their plantation will not have any problem. All growers are advised to come forward to grow Agar. Such interactive meetings are going on at various places and thalok levels on time to time on regular basis.
